We are proud to announce that Nusrat Sadia Khan, a Ph.D. student in the Randles Lab, has been awarded Duke University's Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for her exceptional contributions to BME 307: Transport Phenomena in Biological Systems.
BME 307 introduces students to the mathematical modeling of biological systems through transport phenomena and biochemical kinetics. The course covers foundational topics including conservation of mass and momentum, fluid mechanics, diffusion and reaction processes, dimensional analysis, and reaction engineering, equipping students with the tools to analyze complex biomedical and biotechnological systems.
Throughout the course, Nusrat demonstrated an outstanding commitment to student success through her clear instruction, thoughtful mentorship, and dedication to helping students engage with challenging technical concepts. Her efforts played an important role in creating a supportive and effective learning environment for the students in BME 307.
